The Faculty of Biology of the Adam Mickiewicz University has been one of the best-rated schools for many years higher education institutions in Poland. The high level of education is confirmed by the distinguishing feature assessment of the Polish Accreditation Committee - awarding I places for the fields of Biology (2019) and Environmental Protection (2020) in Ranking of Directions in Perspektywy Studies and the University certificate Leadership (2019 and 2020).

Our Faculty is also globally perceived what has its own reflected in high positions in world rankings university. In the Life Sciences category of the ranking Times Higher Education 2021 AMU is classified as positions 501-600 ( 2nd place in Poland ). In category Enviroment / Ecology in the Best Global Universities ranking Ranking 2021 we took place 327 ( 1st place in Poland ).

We believe that the primary goal of university education is support student in developing their own interests and providing tools enabling independent search for answers. The first of these goals has been pursued primarily for several years Tutoring and Scientific Mentoring program. Among the staff the research and teaching faculty is located over 50 certified Tutors who run series every year individual meetings with dozens of students. While of tutoring, students under the supervision of the Tutor discover and deepen theirs passions and plan their scientific career path. Students about very much good results have the opportunity to start an individual course education based on the independent creation of one's own program studies on the basis of education modules offered by all Faculties of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań.

The Faculty of Biology is very dynamic Natural Sciences Club (NSC) , which is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2021 of its existence. Twenty existing sections, incl bioinformatics, provide ample opportunities to engage in implementation of projects based on your own ideas. Adequate care by the Faculty's research staff translates into KNP's numerous successes - in 2021, the Virology and Biotechnology Section Molecular has received a prestigious grant from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in the amount of over PLN 70 thousand.

In addition to being active in KNP, students have many opportunities applying for own funds for research research as part of university grant programs, such as Best Student Grant or Study @ research . Individual projects carried out under the supervision of experienced scientists, they often finish the first scientific publications and are an excellent start in an academic career.

Students of the Faculty of Biology at AMU have a wide range of opportunities to participate in various programs of international academic exchange. Vigorously running programs such as Erasmus , or participation in a consortium University European EPICUR not only allows parts to be realized education at foreign universities, but also completion internships in international research centers.
