Students' opinions

As an international student (from the USA), I was not exactly sure what to expect from the Environmental Protection program. Originally, I picked the program because I really enjoyed my interview with the professors during the application process and I liked the curriculum offered. After one year in the program, I am very pleased with my choice and would recommend it for anyone who are interested in learning more about protecting the environment. The overall course load has an emphasis on water, so if you are interested in water protection and management, its a great option. Most importantly, the professors are fantastic - they are smart, flexible, curious, always available, and open for questions and discussion. Finally, I love how international the program is - my classmates are from all over the world which adds so many positive elements.

Jay Tipton, USA

As humans, we acquire knowledge and skills through experience. Being privileged to be enrolled in the master’s program in Environmental protection has equipped me with adequate competencies in aerobiology, ecohydrology, limnology, hydrobiology, analysis of LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) data, R-programming and use of GIS-Geographic Information Systems amongst many others. The location of study is quite favorable for international students. Also, not only are the lecturers impactful and friendly, they are also insightful. The modules of the programme also promote dialoguing and exchange of scientific innovative ideas which has been and can be implemented in various contexts of economies that can model international, personal and career development. Therefore, I can confidently say that this area of study’s contributions to economic and environmental growth and development cannot be underestimated. And I further encourage others to join in.
